What are you doing for Mother's Day?

Celebrate Mother’s Day with a creative twist at our Mother’s Day Paint & Sip event, hosted by talented Ottawa artist Jovita Akahome. Her piece, “Maami” will be the reference image for this event.

Each participant will receive a pre-outlined canvas that they can paint in with colors of their choice. She will be providing art instructions for this event. This event is in collaboration with “Ivie’s Crown Events,” series which aims to promote community and social interaction in a relaxed atmosphere. Join us to unwind, create, and connect.

Each participant will be provided with a name tag, an easel, 1 pre-outlined stretched canvas (12 x 12 inches), 1 brush set, a palette of colors and Ivie’s Crown Events signature refreshments.
* This event is for anyone 16 years and older.
About the artist
Jovita Odegua Akahome is a Canada-based visual artist whose work is influenced by geometric abstraction and an ancient African practice of body markings. Her work focuses on exploring the relationship between culture and identity. She has practiced professionally since 2013. She has a Bachelor of Arts, with a Major in Visual Arts and Minor in History, from the University of Ottawa. She creates her works using a versatility of traditional and new media.
